I agree. Terra's story is supposed to be this "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions" thing, but what he ACTUALLY does feels no different than what Ventus and Aqua do.

Aqua is pretty high and mighty for someone who was going to break into someone's house and murder their family on a whim.

I'm not one for power level comparison, but good guy prime power rankings probably looks something like:

Riku > Sora > Aqua > Terra > Ventus

I have legitimately no idea where to place Mickey but he's in that ball field somewhere. Given Sora's leap from KH1 to 2 and some of the plot threads being sprinkled around, he's probably going to end up legit god tier by the end of 3. >_>

I mean, storyline wise Aqua is pretty ridiculously strong. (Major end game spoilers for Aqua) She ends up defeating Vanitas with the X-Blade, beats Terranort (she essentially beats everyone else's final bosses), and spends over a decade in the World of Darkness where she cuts down tons of Darksides that always gave Sora trouble. I don't doubt that Sora will eventually be stronger than her, but I think she's probably the most powerful Keyblade wielder currently.

Thankfully I never had trouble with Riku's fight as a kid. I always would Guard the hits, and be disciplined enough to only attack him once or twice (he breaks out of full combos) and just try to whittle him away. The hardest fights I remember as a kid were Ceberus and the Cave of Wonders.

In my replay I wasn't sure what I was going to do about his final phase since I wouldn't be able to outlast him. I ditched the staff in this playthrough, but I didn't realize how late you learn MP Rage in the Final Mix version, which is a critically important ability. In the end I decided to just power through and attack him without concern for myself to try and take him out before he could take me out. Luckily I came out on top.

This game is actually significantly more difficult than I was anticipating. To the point I'm pretty sure I am may be doing something fundamentally wrong.

Or there was just a spike in difficulty at Agrabah or something. Cave of Wonders couldn't actually kill me, but the fight took...forever. To say the least.

I am marathoning my way through this game pretty hard right now. I have enjoyed what I've played thus far for the most part.

For whatever reason KH1 is legitimately the hardest in the series imo. Part of it is due to the clunky combat which wasn't refined until later, but enemies can also do a ton of damage out of the blue.

I decided to do my replay in Proud Mode even though I felt I would regret it. That regret turned out to be reasonable. In the other games Proud generally is hard in the beginning but evens out as you progress providing decent challenge overall. Here there are so many things that three or two shot you. Now that I'm nearing the very end of the game it's been better since I have most of the useful abilities, but stuff like Pot Centipede, Ursula 2 (who I'd always thought of being easier than Ursula 1) and Anti-Sora were pretty tough. I'm not even sure how well I'll do the bonus bosses.

That movie was dumb.

Apparently the was this whole subplot about Malekith's motivations that made him more compelling and sympathetic that was cut out. So in the end he now only wants the Aether to "cover the universe in darkness, rawr!" or whatever. Lot of bad decisions in that movie.

If I remember correctly, his story started out with him searching for Terra, and then devolved into his nebulous motivation to make "friends".

What? He already had a bunch of friends. That's the only reason he decided to go to last couple of worlds? They kind of gave up on his story making any sense by that point.

That panel was great. They had every one of the main cast there (which was funny, because it meant Matt Mercer blew off going to the Overwatch panel earlier that day for this), and they did all these improv sketches in character. The only disappointing thing was they wasted the last half promoting a Persona 5-themed food truck. I tried that Big Bang Burger, and it did not live up to the hype.

That's why guys like Lopen don't understand the success of Black Panther. To him, person who is savvy about the MCU, it's just another story. But to millions of people who don't watch this shit, it's a really cool story about an alternate ancestry for them - it's a home. Every MCU franchise, or even movie within a franchise, does something unique or interesting to draw in people. Ant Man is a heist movie. Winter Soldier is a spy thriller. Guardians of the Galaxy is a space comedy. These all draw in different crowds.

I think you are severely underestimating the overlap between people who saw Black Panther and people who saw him in Civil War first.

Ehhhhh... I couldn't give you accurate numbers in that regard, but I personally know about a dozen people who didn't watch CW but loved Black Panther.

It was really disappointing because I felt like I could talk to co-workers and family about something I was interested in, only to find out they hadn't watched any other MCU movies beside BP.

In the Persona 3 PSP version you can select a female MC which changes the story some (and gives you S.Links with the male party members instead of the female ones- P3 didn't have you S.Link all of the party members).

It's an oft-requested feature to return but they have yet to replicate it.

I'm not sure how much effort it would be to include it again. It doesn't seem like it would be too hard, a million games have gender selects, so it's weird they wouldn't.

Really? A game like Persona seems like it would take a ton of more effort to add another playable gender. You'd have to rewrite loads and loads of dialogue, adjust the story, animate separate FMV cutscenes, etc. You can't compare this to, say, Pokemon, or other RPGs where the type of character you are makes jack difference.

The absolute confusing insanity of Monstro ( you can go through the same door twice and end up in a different area! In a dungeon where every area looks identical!), the awfulness of Atlantica ( you'd think by changing the controls to this awful swimming system and removing all your defensive abilities they would make the battles easier to compensate, but nope!), and Captain Hook's fucking awful pirate ship ( let's all have a bunch of 3D Battles inside rooms that are all built smaller than an outhouse!) really killed my desire to complete the game.

Luckily things picked back up by Hollow Bastion, but ugh....

I didn't find Monstro too bad. Ignore everything, just run to the first door you see every time and you'll be done with it super quick (or maybe I just got lucky to not get super lost).

Fuck Atlantica though.

Well, I didn't get lost going through the world, it's just a great example of the bad game design that plagues the later half of the game.

Then came 100 percenting the thing. I knew I had puppies and Trinity Marks left in there but trying to find where they were was a nightmare. THAT'S when I got lost. It doesn't help that the floor is colored like a bad drug trip, making it so easy to miss the Trinities.

I literally stopped using D-Links at all by the time I got to Aqua's story. I'm sure if you really know what you're doing you can use them to get easy access to useful commands early, but I much preferred my own deck.

That's exactly my experience. Maybe it was because I played Terra first and didn't have the controls down yet, or because he's a big ox, but Ventus was wayyyyy easier and more fun to play as.

Aqua too. She was hard at first since she got two shot by nearly everything, but by the end her abilities were way to good and just annihilated everything.

I think Ultimania explained that Xehanort was fascinated with the letter X because of the Xblade, so he renamed his followers in that fashion because of that.

Weapon durability makes way more sense in an open world adventure game like botw. It helps foster a sense of discovery and survival management ( there are way too many open-world RPGs where you can find a good weapon early on and all the other weapons you find in chests and as quest rewards or just trash, making those rewards completely unsatisfying).

In a game like Fire Emblem, it's just an annoyance. It's already a whole project trying to balance all your different character's equipment and having only limited opportunities (in some games) to obtain new weapons anyway. I don't see what durability adds to that as a gameplay element.
